Selection of industrial oil

All types of machinery consist of moving parts. Metal friction causes heat and wear.

Therefore, lubricants play a role in eliminating these problems.

In the production process in various industries, machinery must be lubricated with the right oil (both type and viscosity)

in the right place and at the right time. Lubricants must provide effective lubrication, reduce friction, wear and tear, and be able to withstand high impact pressure. In addition, after lubrication, they must have rust protection properties

so that these machinery can be used efficiently and have a long service life

to save maintenance costs.

The main criteria for selecting industrial lubricants are:

1. Select the type or type of lubricant that is appropriate for the job, such as

– Gearboxes that are subject to pressure and impact should use gear oils with high pressure EP type.

However, if the gearbox has high speed and no pressure and impact, turbine oil, R&O oil, or circulating oil can be used.

– Hydraulic systems with very high oil pressure and heavy use should choose good quality hydraulic oils with anti-wear additives.

– Turbines should use lubricating oils of the Turbine oil with anti-oxidant

2. Select the viscosity number that is appropriate for the usage conditions, such as:

– High-speed machines should stop using lubricants with lower viscosity than machines with lower rpm.

– Machines with heavy loads, high pressure should use oil with higher viscosity than machines with lighter loads.

– High-temperature machines, the areas that require lubrication also have high temperatures. Lubricants with higher viscosity should be selected. Using in low-temperature areas
